Adv Imthiaz Sirkhot

Imthiaz Sirkhot has the qualifications B.A. LLB. ADLL. He is an Advocate of the High Court of South Africa. In the 1990’s he was employed by the National Union of Metal Workers (NUMSA) as the National Legal Officer. He was then employed as a Commissioner at the CCMA in 1996 and was the Senior Arbitrator and Mediator in his group and was the mentor for many others.

Imthiaz was then employed by Independent Newspapers as the Group Legal Advisor specializing in Legal and Industrial Relations matters. He is an Ex-Director of Makana Media and Ex-Chairperson of Kaya FM and GABZ Radio (Botswana). He sits on the Regulatory and Legislative Sub Committee of Print Media South Africa analysing and monitoring legislation negatively affecting press freedom. He is presently a Panellist on the General Public Service Sectoral Bargaining Council, South African Local Government Bargaining Council, Public Service Co-ordinating Bargaining Council, the Safety and Security Sector Bargaining Council, Metal Engineering Industries Bargaining Council and is accredited by the CCMA. He is currently an accredited commercial mediator.
