Andiswa Makasi

Andiswa obtained her LLB from the University of the Western Cape (UWC) and completed Practical Legal Training at the School for Legal Practice at the University of Cape Town (UCT). She worked as a Legal Advisor for the Women’s Legal Centre in 2003 and served her articles of clerkship at the Legal Aid Clinic (UWC). Andiswa was admitted as an Attorney of the High court of South Africa in 2005. She worked for the Social Law Project at UWC for 5 years and also lectured on a part time basis for the Law Faculty. She joined the CCMA Western Cape region in 2010 as a Full Time Commissioner and thereafter joined the CCMA National office, Training Development Unit in 2015.

Andiswa is registered with the Education, Training and Development Practices SETA (ETDP – SETA) as a Facilitator, Assessor and Moderator. She became a Part Time Commissioner in 2019 and can conduct a variety of dispute resolution processes with the CCMA and some Bargaining Councils. In November 2019, she completed her Master’s degree in Labour Law from UCT and is also a current member of SASLAW Western Cape.
