Shidaan completed his LLB at the University of the Witwatersrand in 2011. Since then he has completed his mediation training through AFSA, CEDR and Conflict Dynamics. He also completed the Labour Dispute Resolution Practice programme at the the University of the Witwatersrand with disctinction. The LDRP programme is a requirement to become a CCMA commisioner.
Shidaan has been working in the dispute resolution industry since 2013. He inititally interned at a dispute resolution company where he was exposed to various ADR processes. He followed that up by completing his legal articles at law firm that specialised in dispute resolution and labour law. He is now the business development manager of Mediate Works. At Medaite Works he has trained, facilitated and chaired a number or disputes for various public and private organisations.
Shidaan is passionate about mediation and conflict resolution. He offers his services to Pro-bono.org to assist indigent couples going through divorce. He also has an interest in spreading the message of effective conflict management to the youth of South Africa and ran project to develop the young leaders at the Ahmed Kathrada Foundation. Shidaan guest lectures ADR to final year Law students at the University of the Witwatersrands
